Voting to repeal a 1913 law yesterday, the State Senate of Massachusetts paved the way for out-of-state same-sex couples to get hitched. Massachusetts was the first state to grant marriage equality to gays and lesbians. California became the second state last month. While California allowed residents from out-of-state to get married, Massachusetts did not. New York Governor David Paterson has declared that even though New York state won’t perform gay marriages, they will recognize same-sex marriages that are performed elsewhere… hint, hint.
